Greek Vinaigrette (5 Ingredients) - Little Broken (2)

I use this Greek salad dressing recipe 99.9% of times on any dish that I want to add Greek flavor, such as this Greek salad skewers. It has the perfect balance of lemon, garlic, and oregano. It stores really well in the refrigerator for up to one week.

The best part is you can use it over and over on green salads, quinoa salads, or pasta salads. Pretty much any type of salad that requires some type of Greek dressing recipe or Greek vinaigrette.

Greek Vinaigrette Recipe FAQs

Greek vs Italian Dressing

There are many variations of the two dressings. However, Greek dressing typically features olive oil, red wine vinegar, lemon juice, and Mediterranean herbs like dried oregano.

Meanwhile, Italian dressing commonly contains a mixture of olive oil, vinegar, and flavor enhancers common in Italian cuisine such as salt, pepper, and garlic.

Is Greek vinaigrette good for you?

Greek dressing is low in saturated fat and is a good source of healthyomega-3 fatsthanks to the olive oil and offers anti-inflammatory properties thanks to the garlic and herbs. As a result, it is often considered a healthy salad dressing option.

Description

Whip up this easy homemade Greek salad dressing in just minutes for authentic Greek flavor with most ingredients found in your pantry.

Ingredients

UnitsScale

Yields: 1/2 cup

  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed with side of your knife then peeled*
  • 1 tsp. dried oregano
  • 3 pinches of salt
  • 1015 grinds black pepper

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a mason jar or any type of container with a lid. (I love this all-in-one dressing shaker). Cover and shake vigorously until combined. Adjust salt and pepper as needed.
  2. Cover and store in the refrigerator up to 1 week. Stir before serving.

Notes

*the garlic flavor gets stronger the longer the dressing sits, so if serving the dressing immediately, you can add minced or pressed garlic, otherwise, smashed garlic works great here as it gradually flavors the dressing

I was super excited to try this recipe but one juice of a lemon is too much. ???? I’m still going to use it. I just need to tweek it a little.

I have been making a very similar recipe for years, and everyone loves it. Difference is 2 Tbsp. Chopped Parsley, only 1 Tbsp. Lemon Juice, and no garlic. My question is, where did you find the cute little dressing container? I usually just make enough to pour over my Greek Salad, but would be nice to have extra on the table in such a nice container. Thanks!

Thank you! So glad you’re loving this Greek salad dressing. If I’m not mistaken the container was a find at Home Goods.

I have made it numerous times however I
Ad a teaspoon of sugar and that cuts down the tartness! A Greek friend gave me that tip.
