Sheet Pan Smoked Sausage and Potatoes - Meatloaf and Melodrama (1)

This easy recipe for smoked sausage and potatoes is a complete meal cooked on a baking sheet. I have been making this sheet pan smoked sausage and potatoes recipe for years, and it’s probably my family’s favorite sheet pan dinner.

Sheet pan dinners are some of the easiest dinners one the planet, and there’s practically zero clean-up. And that, my friends, is priceless!

I grew up on kielbasa recipes, or smoked sausage, or Polish sausage, as you may call it. Kielbasa is budget friendly and very versatile.

If you don’t want to use your oven, you can make slow cooker sausage and potatoes or Instant Pot kielbasa potatoes and green beans. You can even make air fryer kielbasa and potatoes!

Ingredients

You only need a few simple ingredients for this smoked sausage recipe. You can find them in your grocery store if you don’t already have what you need:

  • Olive oil
  • Smoked sausage (kielbasa)
  • Small white potatoes
  • Green beans– fresh green beans work best
  • Sea salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder

The first time I made this kielbasa dinner was right after Christmas. We happened to have tons of kielbasa around, and I wanted to try something different with the leftovers. If you’re of Eastern European descent, you’ll get it!

Anyway, I tried cooking the entire dinner at once, but since the kielbasa is already cooked, it was done way before the the potatoes.

I used to cook the potatoes and beans together, but I recently changed it up again!

How to Make Smoked Sausage and Potatoes

For best results, you should cook the potatoes for a few minutes by themselves. The sausage and green beans don’t take much time at all, so this way, everything cooks just right!

First, preheat your oven to 425 degrees f. Then, chop up the potatoes, and toss them with olive oil and seasonings in a small bowl.

Place the potatoes in a single layer on a large baking tray. You can use cooking spray, aluminum foil or parchment paper if you want.

While the potatoes are cooking, slice the kielbasa. Then, trim the green beans, toss them with olive oil, and season them.

You can use the same bowl you used for the potatoes.

Cooking Time

Pop the potatoes into the preheated oven, and cook for 15 minutes. Then, remove the baking sheet, and add the sausage slices and green beans.

You will have to move the potatoes around to fit the meat and veggies.

Then, cook the sausage, green beans and potatoes for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and the beans are done to your liking. Total cook time is 20 to 25 minutes.

Variations

Sheet pan meals can go in many different directions, so feel free to customize to your own preferences!

This is a great recipe for any kind of precooked sausage. So if you would rather use something other than kielbasa, go for it! Turkey sausage, chicken sausage, or American classic sausage will work just as well.

Slice kielbasa however you prefer. I’ve cut mine into slices and larger pieces–both are great, and cooking time isn’t affected!

Add your favorite veggies to this sheet pan dish! Try sweet potatoes, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, minced garlic cloves, and green onions or yellow onions.

Spice your dinner up with some red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, or a taco seasoning blend. Or, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese or parmesan on top–nothing says ultimate comfort food quite like cheesy potatoes and oven roasted smoked sausage!

Drizzle hot sauce, ketchup, or honey mustard to take this easy meal to the next level. Try this Sheet Pan BBQ smoked sausage dinner for a delicious barbecue flavor!

How to Store and Reheat

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator, where they’ll last for 3 to 4 days.

For longer storage, freeze in a freezer safe container.

Reheat individual portions of this sheet pan dinner in the microwave. It’s a great meal for both easy dinner making and grabbing leftover on the go!
