 | | | Non-Film Score Discussion:HEROES, EVA MENDES, ALIEN, STAR WARS | | Last Post |
| | | | | | | | Posted: | Aug 5, 2008-9:17 AM | | | By: | dragon53(Member) | TUESDAY, AUGUST 5 HEROES---spoiler (see below) STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS---producer Catherine Winder said the animated tv series takes place between Episodes II and III. Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka, his Padawan learner, are sent on a mission where they encounter Jabba the Hutt, Count Dooku and Asajj Ventress. Also, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Yoda lead the clone army versus the Dark side. EVA MENDES---her controversial Calvin Klein tv commercial has been rejected by the major US networks. The commercial for Secret Obsession perfume shows Mendes as she "writhes seductively on a bed and caresses her nipples." A censored version will be for US cable networks and an uncensored version will be for non-US broadcasts. ALIEN---Sigourney Weaver hinted she may star in another ALIEN movie, "I would feel very weird if they brought her [Ripley] back and cast someone else." Weaver has said she and director Ridley Scott have discussed reuniting for another movie in the series. JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA---director George Miller said the on again/off again superhero movie may begin filming next year, but not in Australia as originally planned. He said about Australian model Megan Gale as Wonder Woman, "She got the job because she blitzed her screen test. I mean, I had no idea she was so good." THE DOGS OF BABEL---movie underway based on the best-selling novel about a linguistics professor who teaches the only witness to his wife's death how to speak---his dog. SYMPATHY FOR DELICIOUS---comedy movie underway starring Mark Ruffalo and James Franco about a paraplegic faith healer who can heal everyone except himself. CARLA GUGINO---stars in WATCHMEN as superhero Sally Jupiter/Silk Spectre, mother of superhero Laurie Juspeczyk. Gugino also stars in RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, a remake of ESCAPE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN, in which she plays a disgraced astrophysicist who helps a taxi driver (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) and two kids with special powers escape from government agents and a possible alien. PRIMEVAL---the British sci fi series about scientists battling creatures from a rip in the time continuum premiers on BBC America on August 9. RISE OF THE GARGOYLE---Sci Fi Channel tv movie starring Eric Balfour (24) as a disgraced writer who battles a monstrous gargoyle in Paris. HEROES---reportedly Season 3 will have Arthur Petrelli (Robert Forster) return although he was killed off earlier. The two-hour premier supposedly has a major shocker---possibly about Petrelli and his super powers.

RISE OF THE GARGOYLE---Sci Fi Channel tv movie starring Eric Balfour (24) as a disgraced writer who battles a monstrous gargoyle in Paris. I saw one of the funniest "monster" movies on Sci-Fi this past weekend starring D.B. Sweeney. The creature effects were some of the worst I've ever seen, so bad and so funny in fact that they required a replay on my DVR. I haven't guffawed at a "horror" movie in so long.

Weaver played a starring role in sullying the series with ALIEN 4, wielding a degree of creative control from what I remember hearing... why is anybody sane even discussing the extension of the now pitiable Ripley character? Forget ALIEN 4 ever happened. Introduce some new folk, some new marines (or army grunts etc.), firmly entrench the tale in the gloriously rich mythos of ALIENS, and get on with it. What ego is at work here, pushing things? Get Cameron or Scott to do another one assuming they are in possession of a story worth relating, and forget about old been-there-slain-that-ruined-this characters. I`m tired of hearing about this line of thinking. (he exclaimed civilly) (of course I still want to hear about it... Dragon...) (grin) As for the woman featured in the photo of the JLA movie story, I believe I have evinced carnal admiration for her in previous posts. Let me do so again.
