Baked parmesan tomatoes are a simple and tasty appetizers made by baking tomato slices. This fresh tomato recipe is low in carbohydrates and low in calories. Since it has tomatoes it boosts the immunity due to high vitamin C content. You can serve this Italian dish as appetizers along with a dip or add it to 2 slices of bread and have it as a sandwich.
Health benefits of tomatoes are numerous and therefore you should add it to daily diet. Consumption of tomatoes reduces the risk of heart diseases, improves digestion and prevents constipation, promotes healthy hair and healthy skin, make immune system stronger, improves bone health and also increases fat burning capacity and aids in weight loss.

Ingredients to make baked parmesan tomatoes:
- Tomatoes – I have used fresh and firm tomatoes.
- Cheese – I have used parmesan cheese in this recipe.
- Seasoning – Oregano or pizza seasoning can be used in this recipe.
- Garlic powder – If you like garlic, you can add this to the recipe. You can also use garlic paste if garlic powder is not available.
- Parsley – Parsley is used for garnishing the parmesan tomatoes.
- Black pepper powder – This is added for making the baked tomato slices with cheese bit spicy.
What are the steps to make grilled tomatoes with parmesan cheese?
- In a mixing bowl, add olive oil, chopped parsley, black pepper powder, garlic powder and mix well.
- Pre-heat the oven in broil mode and line the baking tray with aluminum foil.
- Place tomato slices on the aluminum foil and over it spread a tablespoon of parsley olive oil mixture.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top of the tomato slices.
- Garnish with oregano or pizza seasoning.
- Bake for 15 minutes.

How to serve parmesan tomatoes?
Serve these tomato slices with cheese as appetizers. You can even make a sandwich by filling these grilled parmesan tomatoes inside 2 slices of bread. You can also serve them to kids with roasted cauliflower soup. You can cut the tomatoes in advance, but you should serve them hot.

Ingredients
- 4 firm tomatoes cut into 1 cm thick slices
- 2 cups grated parmesan cheese
- 4 tablespoon pizza seasoning
- 2 tablespoon Black Pepper Powder
- 4 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoon garlic powder/garlic paste
- 4 tablespoon parsley finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt
Instructions
Take a mixing bowl, add olive oil.
Add chopped parsley, black pepper powder, and garlic powder, salt and mix well.
Pre-heat the oven in broil mode for 5 minutes.
Line the baking tray with aluminium foil.
Place the tomato slices in a line.
Over every slice of tomato add 1 tablespoon of parsley and olive oil mixture from the mixing bowl.
Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of parmesan cheese on top.
Garnish with some more pizza seasoning.

Yum! I love baked tomatoes with breakfast — it isn’t an American thing, but I have lived overseas enough to know a good British Big Breakfast 🙂 I make these at home on the weekends almost exactly as you’ve written this!
